Connection issues for OS X 10.10 Yosemite users

There is currently an issue for those running Yosemite trying to download their games. There is a sticky thread in the Origin forum here but I thought it prudent to have one here too for those postin...

    This has now been fixed in Origin. Make sure your Origin client is up to date if you are still experiencing this issue in Yosemite.

I've been trying to play the sims 4 on my macbook today (operating system OS X Yosemite 10.10.5) and after I installed the origin update, I'm getting the error message saying that origin servers are temporarily unavailable. It says please reload and try again, which I've done several times including restarting my computer. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?
