Crash after entering anything in search field Build Mode

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Mac: 1.68.156.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, Toddler Stuff, Outdoor Retreat, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Backyard Stuff, Spa Day, Holiday Celebration Pack, Laundry Day Stuff, My First Pet Stuff, Vampires, Get to Work, Kids Room Stuff, Jungle Adventure, Movie Hangout Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Cats & Dogs, Bowling Night Stuff, Dine Out, Get Famous, Get Together, Perfect Patio, City Living, Fitness Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Luxury Party Stuff, Digital Deluxe, Spooky Stuff, Parenthood, Seasons.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Type anything in the search field of build mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? As soon as a single letter is entered into the search field the spinning beach ball shows up and between 30 seconds and 1 minute the game will crash to the desktop. Happens with and without any mods/cc.
What do you expect to see? To be able to type in the search field and things found shown, as before the last patch.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Started after patch Mac: 1.68.156.1220

    Hmm, that's odd. Could you move the whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop then load a new clean game and see if it still happens?

    @Bluebellflora Ok, so it does not do it with new folder. Looking into what may be the cause, it happened with and without mods the other day. Going to put my settings back and start tracking it down, piece by piece.

    Good plan 🙂 When moving out the Mods folder you should trash the localthumbcache.package file too. I would move your saves back first then go through the Mods folder.

    @Bluebellflora Yep, got all scripting mods and big mods back, all good.
    Did the 50/50 on the remaining CC, worked with both sets of the 50/50 separate without crashing?????, just not when all together...this will be fun

    @Bluebellflora Well that was fun. Tracked it down to a Build Mode recolor.
    Thanks again for the kick in the rear, pointing me toward the real cause. Odd still how it only showed with all installed.

    Great you found the cause 🙂 Maybe the file causing the issue is conflicting with another file in the Mods folder?

    @Bluebellflora I thought the same thing, but then did a full test with the one cc recolor as the only thing in the mods folder, and it crashed, so that will be a head scratcher.

    Now if we could just get them to look at the toddlers wearing slippers when they bathe, even on a full clean no mod install............
