Downloading Sims 4 CC problem

Everytime I try downloading Sims 4 CC, the additional pop up screen doesn't pop up. But it still says that it has been downloading even though it hasn't.

Update: When I go on Chrome downloads and click show in finder, it allows me to place it in a folder. I've been using that for for the past 2 hours, but I still need a permanent solution. ps. I use a MAC

@Bluebellflora I mean that everytime I download CC(atleast I think only on mac's) it let's me choose where I want the CC/Mod to be placed, it doesn't pop up anymore.

I've never had that when downloading CC. It should just download straight to your Downloads folder and you then move it, unzipped if necessary, into your Mods folder. Are you sure it's the CC you're downloading and it's not some erroneous malware from Adfly or similar?

@Bluebellflora I'm kind of suspicious about the malware theory, but i'm still not sure. Is there anyway for me to check that. And also every time I download any CC/Mods it automatically places it in the downloads folder, then makes me drag and drop it in the designated folder. If that helps you help me solve this problem.

What are you suspicious about? A lot of CC creators hide their links behind Adfly and similar. While waiting the 5 seconds for the link to come through in Adfly it can automatically download erroneous files, often masking as Flash updates. These files cause no harm provided you don't double click and open them from your Downloads folder, just trash them. After the 5 seconds you can skip the ad and should be taken to the download page. That is the CC to download. It should automatically download to your Downloads folder, sometimes zipped so you need to unzip and place in your Mods folder.

Do you have a link to some of the CC that is causing this pop up?

@Bluebellflora No CC is causing pop up, it's just that ever since I started downloading more content a week ago, they would automatically go to the downloads folder, usually something would pop up and show me the file, and allow me to choose right away where I would like to place the file. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that. I didn't want to cause you any trouble, but thank you for your help. by the way, I haven't opened any malicious ads. 🙂

You haven't caused me any trouble 🙂 Are you running any apps that claim to clean your Mac of unwanted files and speed it up? Or newly installed antivirus?

Ok. Those programmes are garbage and can do more harm than good as they can remove core files which destabilise your Mac.

If you get the pop up again could you please screenshot it and upload the picture here? Otherwise, you just need to manually move the downloaded content from your Downloads folder to the Mods folder.

@Bluebellflora Thank you so much for trying to help, I deleted Origin and anything to do with it, and now I will try to reinstall everything, to see if there is a difference.
