EA app won't let me install my dlc's

I recently moved all of my sims 4 stuff to an external drive. I reformatted the drive in the APFS format and I moved my cc and mods into the external drive. The base game is also on the drive and it opens fine, and shows all of my mods and cc installed no issues there. However when I try to download any dlc it comes up with a message that says base game missing, Attachment Bellow. I made sure the install location was to the external drive in the same folder as I installed the sims 4 in.  I don't really know why it's doing this, I just want to install all of my dlcs.
