Play whilst travelling - Impossible???

Hi,

Tried to play Dead Space on my Lenovo Legion Go whilst travelling today and….it didn’t go well!

When the EA app demanded that I go online - so I connected via a hotspot on my phone which got me logged in and I got to playing. However, when I disconnected my hotspot, the game just shut down. No warning, no error message, just died.

I presumed this was because I was no longer online and found an article about offline play and so repeated the above and then selected offline play. Launched the game. Same thing again. After a few minutes, it kicks me out and lands me back at the EA app offline play page and all I can do is to relaunch the game. Whereby the issue just repeats itself…

After some googling I got completely lost as it seems the functionality differs depending on how I subscribe to EA play. For the record:

Sub: EA play subscription via Xbox Game Pass ultimate.

Device: Lenovo Legion Go

OS: Windows 11

Game: Dead Space (2023) - Installed via app/Launcher.

A fairly big reason for this purchase is that I travel a lot  and if I can’t play a single player game offline… what are we doing???

    We tried to reproduce the issue you described with Dead Space, though on a standard Windows 11 device, not a handheld, and everything ran fine without the game closing unexpectedly. That said, we’d really like to dig into this further with your help.

    If you're up for it, could you share your EA app Error Reporter ID here in the thread? It would also be super helpful if you could grab your EA app logs, zip them, and send them to our live support team via EA Help. Just attach the file to your ticket and let them know it’s connected to this thread (feel free to share the link). Once that’s done, give us a heads-up here so we can follow up on our side.

    We know it’s a bit of a process, but it’ll help us understand this better, especially if others are experiencing the same issue.
