@ThePaintedJumper Try repairing the game in Origin: right-click on the TS4 icon in your game library to see the option.
Then remove your existing game folder from Documents if you haven't already and load the game. Play around with a new sim—maybe try working in the vet clinic again. If your game is behaving, you can try moving one of your old saves into the new game folder from the old one.
If this doesn't help either, please provide your mac's specs, as described in the following post. Please also list the packs you have installed.
