[FIXED] Problems playing Sims 4 on the 16" MacBook Pro
The 2019 16" MacBook Pros are currently having a few issues playing The Sims 4. Typical problems reported by players are:
Screen tearing
Game crashing, especially when trying to load a househ...
Nothing I do has fixed this issue, I've tried repairing the game and removing all of my cc but I still come across this error. Not sure what to do at this point
@SSeraphism If you are getting that error you may need to try a few things. Please bear with me as I don't ever use Mods or CC on my lot, so there may be additional steps that others may add that I'm not aware of. I would try this, though:
You said you removed your CC. It's possible there are remnants cached in that are affecting the game still, so you could also try removing the cache file, if you didn't do that when you removed the CC:
How to delete cache: • Exit your game and Origin • Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 • Delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder (your game will re-create this folder next time you open the game)
After doing this, given the error message you're getting, please try replacing the floor tiles with a non-CC flooring.
If replacing the flooring doesn't fix the issue, please try re-tracing each room. To do this use the wall tool and trace each wall in the room all the way back to your beginning point to make sure the room completes. This will normally re-create the floor and ceiling upon completing the room trace. You may want to activate the MOO cheat first to reduce or avoid deleting things while doing this.
Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately it seems to have made the strobing chunks of color worse. The issue occurs with any lot in game as I’ve yet to even get the chance to try cc flooring. I’m unable to enter build mode without the game crashing (all plots are base game so I didn’t do anything to them)
