Game Crashes when I have more than 4 sims in a household

When I have a family with more than 4 sims my game loses its mind. Time freezes and then jumps about sporadically. When I try to make a sim do anything it just will not add it to their queue at all, i cannot change character unless i pause the game. I have a household that was absolutely fine until they hit past 4 and I thought it was just that game file but I started another and the exact same thing happens. I have a household of 4 who work fine but I want to be able to play the others! I have no mods or CC and I have tried repairing the game and uninstalling and reinstalling and neither works

    Hmm. Do you have a lot of Packs and are your graphics high in-game? Your Mac is really, really underpowered and is no doubt struggling with the game.

    If you rename the Sims 4 folder and then launch the game so a new one is created does performance improve? You will need to start a new game, go through CAS and place your household, as if you've never played before. Give that a go and see how performance is.

    omg yes i have all the expansion packs bar one 😭 i will try lowering my graphics and i will try renaming folder/starting new game!

    Tried all of this and it works for like 30 minutes then just does the same thing ☹️ tried deleting all my other save files and no different again 😭 it was completely fine until the newest update ☹️
