Amount of memory (RAM) too please 🙂 Also, how much storage space do you have left?
The Sims 4 is not a file you should be moving to the desktop but the whole Sims 4 folder in the Electronic Arts folder, and not putting any of your current saves and mods back in until you have thoroughly tested a new clean game.

@Bluebellflora Yes the folder sorry that's what I did. I'm thinking of uninstalling/reinstalling the whole thing and see if it will work or not. I'll try doing the test runs again with a new folder of ts4.

4GB? That's very low. Do you have many packs installed?
I doubt uninstalling/reinstalling will do anything but you should definitely try the clean folder. Start a new save and play for a bit.- Oriphyne4 years agoNot applicable
here are the specifics. but regardless, I've been playing for years and this never happened to me/game at all. @Bluebellflora

It doesn't matter that you've been playing for years. Your Mac is getting older and the game will struggle on older machines as you add new content and patches are added which introduce new features. These new features will stress older machines. That's why the Legacy Edition was introduced for 2011 and earlier models.
