Game keeps freezing but sims keep moving

My Sims keeps stopping when I'm playing. They keep moving, but I can't pause or change the speed, and I can't select my Sims. It won't allow me to save and exit either. When it does work, it crashes after a few minutes and says EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV). I do play with mods and CC, but I believe all my mods are up to date. I've repaired my game many times now, and it still won't work. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how I can resolve it? I play on a MacBook Air 2020.
