Game won't launch

So I typically buy the CD's physically because that's what I prefer but I have moved recently and cannot find my most recent expansion pack so I figured I would buy a new one. I went to buy Sims 3 Into the Future, downloaded Origin, bought and downloaded Into the Future, clicked on it to play it and the typical pop up screen came up where you have to click the big "play" button on the left side of the pop up. I click it, and the icon for Sims shows up like it's going to load on my screen for a millisecond (literally) and it goes away and my computer tells me Sims shut down for an unexplained reason. Storage is not an issue but please help. I sat on the phone for 20 minutes this morning and was told to delete and redownload Origin and the game and it did not help. If not, how do I get my money back??

    @bengalcatz525 Is your computer a pc or mac? If your computer is a pc please post your computer's dxdiag. if your computer is a pc does the game show up in Origin?

    Nothing unfortunate about owning a Mac 😉

    The EP install may be corrupted, uninstalling and reinstalling Origin would have no bearing on this as Mac users do not need Origin to play Sims 3, only to install it. Please try the following:

    1. Manually uninstall Into the Future
    2. In Origin click on Origin then Preferences in the menu bar, then Installs & Saves in the Origin window
    3. Click on Browse Installers and drag to the Trash any installers with Into The Future or EP11 in the file name
    4. Quit Origin, empty your Trash and restart your Mac
    5. Open Origin, download ITF, install it then quit Origin
    6. Attempt to launch ITF from within your Applications folder: Applications > The Sims 3 > Into the Future

    If the above doesn't work then use the Origin reset tool then repeat the steps above.

    Try to call/do an online chat with origin. I had an issue where I couldn't log into The Sims 3 so I did an online chat. It may take up to 20-25 mins to connect with an advisor.

    They can help you sort out the issue. If not, then return your game to the store you bought it from, even if you ordered it online.
