It's an odd glitch, I'm thinking it may be a hardware issue with your AMD GPU but it could also be a simple driver issue or something gone awry in the installation, doubtful though. Maybe updating to 10.15 Catalina would help if it is a Mac OS driver issue but you would not then be able to run any 32-bit apps if you have any installed.
Hello, I followed the instructions on the link you provided, I won't be sure if the red screen will stop but I still have the black square over where my build was. I am going to see whether I need to update to 10.15 Catalina or not. I am also going to try uninstalling it and re-installing it to see if that helps anything :/

Someone else posted the same weird black box a while ago, I think it was in Newcrest but can't remember definitely. Have you tried a game with a new Sims 4 folder? Move your current one to the desktop then launch the game and see if it persists.
