How to install the sims 4 on my MacBook Pro? How does the digital download work? Will I need internet to play it?

I’m a new player on Mac who just bought the packaged PC-only version of The Sims 41. Download Origin for Mac at www.origin.com/download.
2. Create an EA Account or login with an existing EA account. An account is required in order to play The Sims 4.
3. Under the ‘Games’ drop-down menu (top left), click on ‘Redeem Product Code.’
4. Input your The Sims 4 product code, found within the packaging/insert.
5. Once the code is redeemed, The Sims 4 will begin to download in your Origin Library.
6. Once the download is complete, you will be able to launch The Sims 4 and begin playing.I’m an existing player on PC looking to play on Mac1. Download Origin for Mac at www.origin.com/download.

what is a product code? how do I get it?
The product code is the long phrase of number and letters on the papers inside the disk case. Under where it says welcome to the sims 4. It is a code that allows you to prove that you bought the game and aren't using a stolen or already used game. Its specific to the disk you bought.
Do I have to buy the original one or the one that says digital Mac/pc?
what if you originally Brought this game through Steam, on pc/windows can you find the product code somewhere there? Or is it in an email steam should've sent or Origin?
