I am so done

I had such a great run with the sims. 2 to 4. I felt like I had finally figured out the flow when it came to the updating such as moving mods, updating them, and so on. Today I finally updated the sims 4 and in the process accidentally deleted all of my saves from my Mac. After an all day process and over $80 later I still don't have a fix. Yes I know, this was my fault. However, it occurred to me that if there weren't so many updates, so many fixes, to so many bugs that EA easily could have avoided. I wouldn't have this problem. This never and I mean NEVER happened in sims 2 or 3. Now It's like EA wants us to move on to greener pastures. If anyone knows how to fix this please help. I rewrote package files and everything but my game won't read the files because they deleted meaning there's something in them that's "unreadable" I've renamed files, I've even used a program to recover them from the abyss. still no luck. Now my game is taking hours to load. I've about had it.
