I can’t reinstall the sims 4

I’ve been playing my sims 4 on my MacBook with no problems. Then today, it said I needed to update it. So I tried updating several times with no success (got stuck in a loop of it getting to 33% and then starting all over again). I then cleared caches on the EA app, restarted my laptop and that didn’t work. I tried repairing the game but it was doing the same thing (getting to a certain percentage and then starting again). Googled it and it recommended to move the sims 4 folder from my EA folder on applications, which I did, didn’t work. I then moved the sims 4 game to the bin, emptied the bin, and tried again, didn’t work. So I then uninstalled EA, and then reinstalled it which also didn’t work. So I uninstalled the sims 4 from EA and now am trying to reinstall it but it’s getting to 3gb and saying it can’t install it right now. I have enough storage so that’s not the problem. Basically I’m at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas?
