Firewall and Symbolic link
The app creates a new folder with a version number every time when it updates. The app creates a symbolic link folder: EA Desktop. Windows Firewall ignores rules for symbolic links. The EA app start showing: Unable to connect to the Internet. Do not tell me to turn off the firewall. All other programs update correctly. Stop using symbolic links. A program must ber in one folder.EA app installation error INST-3-1310 when launching FIFA 26 on Steam
Hello, I'm getting error INST-3-1310 ("Unexpected error") when trying to launch FIFA 26 on Steam. The EA app fails to install (both automatically from Steam and manually). What I've already tried (nothing worked): Deleted all EA / EA Desktop / Electronic Arts folders from %ProgramData%, %LocalAppData%, %AppData% Removed EA app leftovers from Registry Restarted PC after each step Disabled antivirus and Windows Defender (real-time protection) Manually downloaded EA app installer from official site: Ran as administrator Installed to C:\EA Games (not Program Files) Tried installing in Windows Safe Mode — same error Ran sfc /scannow — no system errors found Created a new Windows user with admin rights — error persists System info: Game: FIFA 26 on Steam OS: Windows 10 Please help me resolve this. I can provide logs if needed.Solved64Views0likes3CommentsApp is faulty, unreliable & keeps players from launching games
I’m kicked out of the app every time time even though I always select to keep me logged in. Even with high speed Internet there’s constant issues connecting to the servers or updating in less than three hours. Half the time the app doesn’t even open correctly and I have to use the repair system which by all appearances just redownloads the app that’s already taking up way too much space for something that serves no purpose other than launching a pre purchased game. Not to mention ea forces you to use this extremely faulty app to open up any of those games even though they open them up independently when origin still existed. How has all this time past since they shut down origin and still no actual effort has been made to make the platform even the slightest bit reliable for people who never wanted to be your customers to begin with. If there was a way to disconnect the games that I purchased years ago from this terrible platform I wouldn’t a heartbeat.EA app won't download
Hello, firstly I would like to apologise for my english. I'ts not my first language, so it might be a little hard to read. :) So my problem started 2 days ago, after I tried to play the Sims 4 after some time (1month+), and EA needed some update... Which is okay, but when I klicked the button for it to start updating, it only showed the start for the updating (0%) then it disappeared. I've tried this a couple of times, but it always did that , and then it just shut down... after a while it started saying that it is a connection error, and that I have to restart my PC - tried that, didn't work. I've started googling what should I do and I found out that I have to delete EA and try to download it again... well when I deleted EA and tried to download, it wouldn't let me...it said that something is wrong and that I have to restart or if it didn't work that i have to report it... so here I am, trying to report a bug that I cannot fix... I have had a lot of problems with EA in the past, mostly with the connection error but I always wrote to EA help, and it got fixed... but since I can't even get in the app, I have to write here for assistance... I own a PC Windows 7 , and I've only played on EA The Sims 4, since 2019... I am asking if somebody can help me fix this, because I am very tired that every time I open EA I know that there are gonna be some problems, that will take hours to solve. I hate that insted of playing, I have to report these issues... I heard that there was some new update, that people who own Windows 7 and 8 will not be able to play on EA... When I've heard that, I was fuming. How can you do something like this!! I have played EA when it was still Origin - never had any problem when it was Origin, but as soon when you changed it to EA I've started having these errors, and now you won't even let me play my only game on EA - The Sims 4. I am very disappointed and sad that you are stopping people who use old computers to play your app... There is still some hope in me that this issue will get fixed and that I would be able to play again, but if not I probably would like some sort of compensation for this, since I've spent my own money on so many packs on The Sims 4, and if I couldn't play again at least tell me where I can. - Maybe steam won't have these problems that you have, but I would need some reassurance, that even on steam I would have those packs that I have spent money on for those many years. I might try to download better versions for Windows, and I will update you if it will work, but please, if you have any idea how this could be solved, don't hesitate to write to me. Thank you for reading it, and thanks for your help.:)SolvedGame Keeps Auto-Updating Even Though I have Auto-Updates Disabled
I have auto updates disabled. The Sims 4 started automatically updating upon starting the EA app. The update remained paused upon closing and reopening the app, but automatic updates starting despite having that setting disabled has been a continuous problem for months.112Views0likes2CommentsSims 4 won't download or update
Hey there, since recently I have experienced some issues with updating my game and re-downloading it. It first started when my game needed a regular update, which failed from time to time again. I decided to download the entire game in general and now the download fails to start in the first place. I have checked my files and nothing seems odd about it. I also do not play with any mods or custom content. I play on a Macbook Pro M2 2022. Has anyone experienced this for themselves as well or do you have a clue why this could happen? Please let me know. Thank you in advance!50Views0likes0CommentsEA app wont load after update
So there apperently has been an update. As soon as i preess the button to agree to it, it does this, keeps saying background wont work and it is. And now I cant load the app at all. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and everything. And when i try to report the bug from the error report in the folder the one on the right pops up. Sims 4 has a weekly event i want to fill but I cant if i can even get the app to play to even run the gameUnable to download and install the Sims 4 - download stuck at 2%
I have been trying to download the sims 4 but the installation is stuck at 2%. I have been playing the game for many years now, however, on May 21, 2026 there was a new update. When I tried to update it failed. And so I decided to uninstall the game and then reinstall it. The game was installed on my external hard drive (D: Drive). When I try to reinstall the game it keeps getting stuck at 2%. I have tried every suggestion online; I have tried clearing EA cache, uninstalling EA app and reinstalling, uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ and reinstalling, turning off anti virus and installing, I have even tried putting the EA app on the D drive itself instead of C. Nothing has worked. I dont have enough space to install the game plus all expansions on my C drive / windows. I have 30 gb left on my laptop and it takes 26 gb to install the base game alone. Hence me having used the external hard drive in the past for installation. I tried installing base game alone on pc and it worked. so I think the issue lies with trying to install it on my external harddrive. But it has to be installed there because I have no space for the full game on my pc. I even tried formatting the hard drive before and nothing works.
