Game Keeps Auto-Updating Even Though I have Auto-Updates Disabled
I have auto updates disabled. The Sims 4 started automatically updating upon starting the EA app. The update remained paused upon closing and reopening the app, but automatic updates starting despite having that setting disabled has been a continuous problem for months. The update starts without permission
The update starts without my permission. I checked the box in the settings to prevent updates from starting automatically, but even with that box checked, THE UPDATE STILL STARTS! It’s as if the button doesn’t work at all! As soon as I turn on my computer with an internet connection, the automatic update starts immediately, even though it’s disabled in the settings. PLEASE FIX THIS ALREADY!18Views0likes0Commentsafter updating ea app it’s saying i need to redownload ts4 and all the dlcs
the ea app needed an update, but after the update it said i needed to redownload my game and all the dlcs but they’re still on my computer. should i bite the bullet and redownload everything even though i can see them still on my computer in the same place the “new” download would go? i have no way to repair because it’s saying the game needs to be downloaded. i’ve tried everything that was suggested in an older thread. shut off my computer and came back - same thing. should i remove ea completely and redownload it or whatEa app download bar is greyed out
I have come across this disturbing issue, basically whenever an update happens, and i press update, it stays like that for hours at least, i was trying to play fc 26 overnight and went to sleep, 7 hours later, no change. It happens very frequently, whenever i need to switch the language for example, it also does the same thing, i sat down for 3 hours with gemini to help fix the problem, and it did a week ago, now with the update, i tried the fix, didnt work, i dont want to pull an all nighter every single time i need the ea app to download something, I need a permanent fix.64Views0likes2CommentsI got double charged. I've been tried much step to fix this, but the installer shows error INST-3-1920. And I've tried to using these step to fix: Running installer as Administrator Removed files in %temp% Updated DirectX and MS Visual C++ Removed all old EA files in ProgramData, Program Files, and AppData Restarting the PC Ran CHCKDSK /F /R Ran sfc /scannow Installing in clean boot mode Change the setting from "Manual" to "Automatic" the service & start the EABackgroundService (But the pop up shows "Windows could not start the EABackgroundServices service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified") And much other i tried to follow from the youtube or the forums, but it's still error and can't be installed. It's been a month i've tried to looking for how to fix this and tried many step to install the EA App. Maybe anyone have same issue? Help :')Background Service Crashed
I'm unsure as too what steps to take next, I've spent all day trying to figure out why when I tried to open my EA App it would say "Background Service Crashed". I was just playing last night, and never experiences something like this before. My mac is up to date as of yesterday, I tried the uninstall, reset & install again trick COUNTLESS times, I've made sure all my settings are correct like making sure the EA app is allowed and toggled on in Full Disk access, and much much more. Got help from 2 advisors that weren't actually able to help me at all because the same issue persists. I don't know what steps now to take since I am just a gamer and this is way beyond my knowledge and understanding of technology and the EA App. I'm on my own now hoping someone else can assist. My mac version is Sequoia 15 if that matters, but what am I missing? How should I go about solving this issue? Is this an Apple issue or EA issue?Error Code: EC:204 (can't play offline, says "game license has expired")
Whenever EA puts out a game update, I don't update immediately and switch to playing offline for a week or more (depending on how bad it is) while I wait for mods to be updated and for the worst of the new bugs and glitches to be resolved. I've done this since the EA App was released without issue. So the EA App updated shortly before the 7/23 game update and when I went to play offline last night, I discovered I suddenly couldn't. I click on "go offline" and it shows Sims 4 as an installed game, but now when I click play, instead of launching the game offline as usual, I'm getting an error message telling me that the game license has expired and that I need to launch the game to renew the license and gives the Error Code: EC:204. I've never had this issue before. So now I cannot play the game at all as I've seen how lit it is out on the bug report forum and there's no way I'm updating my game right now with all the issues the patch has created. And I can't go "online" with the game without it automatically pushing the update. Is anyone else having this issue with playing offline right now? And is anyone aware of a work around? (Note: I have already logged out and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, cleared the cache, restarted my PC, and ensured by XBox and EA accounts aren't linked (they never were).)8.2KViews19likes34Comments
