I can’t play my sims 4 game

I can’t play the sims 4 for more than a few minutes before the time at the bottoms freezes and I’m not able to switch to another sim. I’ve tried repairing it several times, resetting my Mac, and checked to see if was mods. But at the moment I can’t play the game! 
Also but I don’t know why but my loading screen is taking a long time to load, even after saving
