I updated sims 4 and now all of my saves deleted

So I recently updated the sims 4 game and when I went back on all of my sims and houses were deleted (no saved data and I had to start over again). I then built a house and had no issues saving it. I then created sims and played them for a few days and the game just stopped working and I go to load the game again and it has deleted all my progress. It's so annoying I think I'm done with this game because I've spent 130 hours on it and it keeps deleting everything. Does anyone know how to restore the saves it has deleted or how to stop it from happening? I'm not very good with tech stuff. 

To clarify I have no mods and play on Mac and I've had no issues until now.
