I worry about my Mac (TS4) - your experience?

Hi. I have a terrible experience with The Sims 3 on my MacBook Air (early 2014) - it overheated so quickly that I was affraid to play more than 2 expasions at once, but it was okay since you mostly played with one of them or just used the furniture and clothes from other expansions. But now with TS4 it is different - each expansion really expands your gaming experience and once you played it, you don't want to switch the expansion off!

To be honest someone told me that creating a Wineskin Winery version of a PC version of the game will make my Mac run easier and it was amazing - it was heating up much slower than with TS3 and I was playing with all the content released so far. But buying the game for PC and transferring all the files to Mac and adding it to wineskin is getting tiring and I was wondering if my Mac will run so smoothly also with the "normal" mac version of the game with all the expansions and stuff packs? Do you have any experience on that topic? I know that my mac is "on the edge", I have seen those topic but I'm interested in what YOU, fellow gamers, know about it from your own experience.
