Is this issue permanent or is EA and/or The Sims working on solving this problem? This issue is preventing me and other mac users from playing The Sims and getting new expansion packs, and other game additions. The other option is to not update or computers but that is not reasonable.

I'm curious what Mac you are using that cannot be upgraded past OS X 10.7?
