I need help, so I have an very old MAC system and my sims 4 updated automatically now its giving me this...

Unable to start:

Unable to start due to missing game data. Please download The Sims 4 Legacy Edition from Origin.

What Mac and what Mac OS?

Edit: If you Mac is so old that it does not support Metal, you need to install the Legacy Version as described here.
