invalid platform

I have bought sims 4 on my Mac but when I try and download it, steam says an error occurred while updating the Sims 4 (invalid platform) im really not sure what to do. can anyone help me with this p...

TS4 is not available for Mac on Steam. You must play through Origin.

It still does even tho i downloaded it through origin
