Lost Saved Files
Hi! I recently bought upgraded to a new Macbook Pro 2020 from a Macbook Pro 2013. I embarked looking to transfer my saved files from my old mac to my new but I could not find my saved files ANYWHER...
@Bluebellflora Hi!
Yes I've looked there and even in my iCloud. It's all empty... ):
More info if it helps,
1. My old macbook is on El Capitan so I am unable to uncheck the desktop option in iCloud, it's not available.
2. Under documents > electronic arts> the sims 4 > saves, the saves folder is empty
The last time i played, was perhaps a couple of weeks ago and it was still fine. I do regular updates when Origin prompts to.
I prefer not to update my old mac as i worry it would slow down the mac too much since it's pretty old.
I only transferred particular things over to my new mac, music, photos, videos. I didnt touch my applications or Sims during the manual transfer.
Ok. Let's search properly in Terminal. Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:
find ~ -type d -name "*saves*" 2>/dev/null
It may take a little while to return the results. When it's done and shows the command prompt again please copy and paste the results and post them here.

Thanks 🙂 The first result is the saves folder you said was empty. The second result is an iCloud backup where they may be. In Finder, click on Go in the menu bar then Go To Folder... then ente
~/Library/Mobile Documents
and click Go. A Finder window should open and you should find the backup.
Oh i checked here already. This was the iCloud which i meant was empty too. Besides my library/doc in my old mac itself. ):
