Lost Sims 4 Data

Recently I moved my Electronic Arts folder from the Documents folder on my Mac to my Desktop for quicker access, but then when I opened the The Sims 4 in Origin, all of my data in the game had been erased as if it was the first time I was playing the game. Upon realizing this was likely connected to moving the folder, I moved it back to the Documents folder, but still all my Sims data is gone in the game.

Is there any way I can get my Sims data back, or is it lost forever? If it's lost forever, will this mistake impact my gameplay?

@madsmarlow14 After you moved your folder to the desktop and launched the game you should be able to see a new folder for saves get created. Try moving your saves file into this folder and check if you are able to see your saves.

Yes, you are absolutely correct in that it was connected to moving the folder. If there is no Sims 4 folder in the Electronic Arts folder when you launch the game, a new one will be created. If there is no Electronic Arts folder in the Documents folder, such as the one you moved, again a new one will be created and the TS4 folder created within that.

When you moved the Electronic Arts folder back into the Documents folder, what did you do with the new one that had been created? You would have had a prompt to keep both or replace.
