Mac unexpectedly quitting

I am completely new to the sims 4 I downloaded it to my new mac less then a month ago and I just bought 4 expansion packs and my game was running fine for 2 hour then I closed it to go have dinner and when I came back to continue playing I went through the EA app to get to the sims 4 app and its loaded all normally until I press resume game and then it crashes and tells me the game is quitting unexpectedly I tried a few more time and it responded the same way. I went back to the EA app and pressed the manage  button and clicked repair did that twice loaded and completed both times then went back to see if that fixed the problem but got the same response. I'm not a techy person at all have no idea what I can do to fix it all of the threads I read make no sense to me I wish their was help line I could call to walk me through it Im so lost.
