[MAC] what is

What is package-clientDB-18.pkg linked to my sims 4 game.

  • @Chickodd

Aah yes, I have it in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Saves > Scratch folder too. Read about Save files in Crin's post I linked to.

Nothing to worry about, just leave it alone.

BTW, the All Files isn't a location on your Mac, it's the default view setting when you open a Finder window.

    Hi @Chickodd

Could it be that you renamed your clientDB.package?

If not, where did you find it? If you want to, attach it to you answer and I'll take a look to the file.

It was accidentally downloaded when the game started up and when I put a query on the web it went to a Russian sims fan site.

It won't be deleted every time I try as soon as the game starts up it's back.

I am using a Mac I uninstalled the game and origin but I missed some files as when I reinstalled the saved games were back and so was this file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am concerned that this is a corrupt file.

    Hello again,
Could you take a picture of the inside of folder where the file is and upload it here?

Have you ever downloaded CC or mods for your game?

I have downloaded stuff off the gallery before but have only just noticed this file. I have uninstalled everything even the saved games and the file only came back when I created a new sim and started a new game so could it be linked to creating your own content. I could just be panicking over nothing and worried I downloaded something I shouldn't by accident when my game started up then blacked out saying it needed to debug maps or something.

I think I have attached a screenshot of the file  that is in my all files folder on my mac correctly to this message but I am not that tech savvy so please forgive me.

Thank you again for your assistance with this.

  • I think I'm seeing similar files in the cache folder sometimes (not at the moment though, it's totally random). Is this were yours is located? I just delete it with the rest of the folder's content.

    Where is this file located?

I have the game installed on two different Macs and don't have that file in either of them. The closest I have is the clientDB.package file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. For an explanation on this file read Crin's post.

    Hello

The file is just in the all files on my mac, I do also have the clientDB.package file you mention in the same place you mentioned as well.

When I used get info for the package-clientDB-18.pkg this it what was written Kind:installer package, Where: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/scratch.

Thanks to your link I have now found it in the Scratch folder.

Thank you ever so much for your help, as you can see from my posts I am not very tech savvy. I can now sleep without worry, thank you again.
