Was it an upgrade to Big Sur or a clean install of the original app? I keep getting a prohibitory sign when trying to install the Origin APP
I fixed it. I used Microsoft edge browser and went to the origin page and downloaded an updated client. https://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download is the link to the download.
I'm baffled right now. I just installed Origin but when I go to launch, I get an error:
“Origin” needs to be updated.
The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.
Looks like I'm stuck waiting until alpha release.

I just updated to Big Sur today and now Sims 4 won't start at all. It was fine yesterday when I was still on Catalina. Today even though Origin is open and I'm signed in I keep getting a
Unable to start:
Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims™ 4
message. But Origin is open, running, and I'm signed into my Origin account like normal. I'm on Big Sur build #20B29

You are awesome, I just upgraded to Big Sur and had so many issues, would not load anything past the start screen, I was frustrated, restarted my Mac and also deleted and tried to re-download Origin and it would not work, the link you added worked perfectly! Thanks so much! 🙂
