I know an update it going out to for Metal Mac software, but when? I'm on Catalina and the game is unplayable. Has been now for over a month. Can you please release a patch for us. There's hundreds of people having this issue.

The Metal update is unrelated to the game being unplayable on Catalina. The ActivationUI file executed through Origin during the launch process is 32-bit, the only file to be 32-bit as the game has always been 64-bit for macOS. Catalina is still in beta and EA have not stated whether the game will yet launch even when it is officially released soon. You can install Mojave on an external or partition your drive and run it as a current option.- 7 years ago
Any news regarding this issue? It's been ages since the problem started. Maybe there's the 64bit version of ActivationUI.app somewhere? Anyone knows?
edit: I've found the solution to go back to Mojave without installing it on other drive (I don't have any other one than the one in my Mac so...)
- Fully shut down your Mac.
- Power on your computer and immediately hold Shift + Option + Cmd + R. You’ll notice startup takes longer than normal as macOS Recovery loads.
- Once the macOS Utilities screen loads, choose Reinstall macOS (or Reinstall OS X) and click Continue.
- Follow the prompts and choose your startup disk. Now click Install.
- Walk through the on-screen instructions to complete the rest of the installation process.
- Once the installation is complete, restore your files from the backup you created.

How did this affect your data when you rolled back? This installs the original OS the Mac came with (if still available), not necessarily Mojave.
