You have a Sims 4 saves folder on your Desktop and one in iCloud. Put the one on the desktop in your Documents > EA folder where the game can read it. The file path should be:
Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
If that doesn't contain the saves you're looking for then we'll look in the other folder in the cloud.
You can trash the scratch folders. They appear when you load the game and then automatically disappear when you close it but if the game crashes they aren't automatically removed.
@Bluebellflora I tried to open the game and the application still isn't responding, I still only have the same files as in the first post in the sims 4 folder. I opened the saves file and it was empty.
I'm confused. Which saves folder is empty? The one in the Sims 4 folder on your desktop? Or the one in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder?
