Mods folder not working

I moved my sims 4 game onto desktop rather than documents (icloud) and now all my cc won't work and the mods folder literally isn't being acknowledged by the game. I tried disabling and re enabling cc in game options but still won't work, i tried moving mods folder onto desktop to see if the game will recreate a mods folder but it didn't. and yes I'm sure that the mods folder was in the correct place. PLEASE HELP
