Moving Sims 4 Electronic Arts folder to a different place?

Recently, I bought a Seagate 1TB external hard drive to clear up space on my Mac. I've reformatted the hard drive, made the game library location the new hard drive, un-installed the Sims 4 off my computer, re-installed it on my hard drive, and placed the Electronic Arts folder in the new hard drive. I know it's not as simple as dragging and dropping the Electronic Arts folder in the hard drive, but I don't know how to stop a new Electronic Arts from being created in my Documents folder. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've seen loads of posts about this, but I can't find any solution for a Mac. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    Hi @NatashaM46,

Dragging and dropping The Sims 4 folder into the new drive will not work. The Sims 4 is designed to have it's folder located on the Documents folder. If you want to move The Sims 4 folder, you'll have to move the whole User folder to the new drive.

    Thanks for your reply @fons_garmo

Do you have any idea how to move my entire User folder into the external hard drive? I've tried my go-to method of dragging and dropping, but it just removed the documents folder from my finder sidebar. (No worries though, I've recovered it)

But moving the User's folder to another location messes up my Windows install and now I'm forced to reinstall windows all over again. Moving the User folder will break some things and programs aren't going to work properly.
