@oreosimmer01 Hello! That is terrible! The game should only take a few seconds to load, not hours. :-( Please post a DxDiag per these instructions.

I'm not an expert at diagnosing system issues but this will assist other AHQ helpers to know if there are any requirements that your system may be lacking.
In the meantime, I want to clarify these are the steps you've taken so far and if you haven't followed these steps, please try them now.
- While the game is not running, move your mods folder to the desktop or another location and delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder. Then repair the game and, after the repair has run for all packs, open the game to see if you're still experiencing the lag.
- If the lag persists, close the game and move the entire The Sims 4 folder from the Documents / Electronic Arts folder to your desktop or another location, then open the game which will generate a brand new, clean TS4 folder.
- If the lag persists then uninstall the game, uninstall Origin, reinstall Origin, and reinstall TS4. Before adding anything, open the game.
If you're still experiencing that terrible lag, then there may be a system issue and the DxDiag will be really important for diagnosing the issue.
Edit: While attempting these steps and if your game takes more than a few minutes to load, you may wish to use Task Manager to kill the game so you're not waiting for hours before moving to the next step. If you don't know how to do this, just press Ctrl+Alt+Del and click Task Manager. Then, click TS4 in the menu and then click the End Task button.
I don’t think I can run a dxdiag because I’m on an iMac.

@oreosimmer01 Okay. I'm not a Mac user so we may need to call for more help. Try the steps here to provide your System Profile.

@oreosimmer01 Thank you for that information but I've been told that what's needed is for you to click on the Apple in the menu bar then About This Mac. Please provide that information here.
Apologies for not asking for the right thing. As I said, I'm not a Mac user. However, your post has been moved to the Mac forum and someone will be able to help you here. I do hope you are able to resolve the issue soon!
