Your Mac should be able to run the game no problem. How much storage space is available? Click on More Info then scroll down to the bottom and it will show you how much disk space you have left.
You should also try a completely new game folder, not just move out Mods. Follow these steps to launch a new clean game and try to narrow down the issue - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163
I also tried repairing and uninstalling and reinstalling both origin and the sims 4 and I even tried logging out of origin and it didn’t work.

Ok. What is the drive you're using? Is it an HDD or SSD? What is the connection? Do you have to use an adapter? I still need to know how much space you have left on the internal storage as this can affect RAM.

It’s a USB external solid slate drive. On the Mac itself it says I have like 2gb left. I got my game to launch. So now it just takes forever to load. It’s probably the amount of cc and mods I have. It’s over 20,000 files in my mods folder.

2GB is absolutely not enough space and will be the reason for the lagging. This is because some of the internal storage is used for virtual memory. Free up to at least 10GB and it should help. - 3 years ago
I freed up 150gb and it still doesn’t load. I don’t know what to do anymore. 😞

Did you empty the trash and Downloads folder?
Did you do the clean Sims 4 folder with NONE of your saves/mods etc? - 3 years ago
Yes when I take all the mods out it loads within 10 seconds but I can’t play without mods because the game is just boring to me. ;/

Then the problem is your Mods and a whole other issue if you’re not willing to play the game without them. - 3 years ago
What do you suggest I do to make the game run faster?
