my sims 4 is stuck on the blue loading screen, how do I fix this?

My Sims 4 has been stuck on the dark blue loading screen for a while now and I have no idea how to fix it. I am on a Mac and have tried quitting the game but it won't work. Any ideas on how to fix th...

    @sophie1614I'm not a MAC user, so I might not have the buttons right, but if you press ctrl + alt + delete, then go to task manager, you can manually close your game. Normally I would do this if the CPU in task manager is around 100%, but also keep note that if your memory reached a certain degree (for example, if a laptop slows down at 50% memory) and goes past that %, it will slow down and try to "fix itself.

    You could also see this way if the game stopped responding and you didn't know.

i've had this happen twice, both times when traveling to dates at the Rattlesnake Juice bar is Oasis Spring. i finally force quit (command-option-escape) both times after waiting like a half hour.

the first time was a couple months ago before i had downloaded any CC and i thought nothing of it but it happened again two nights ago (my game now has CC but no script mods). these were in two different saves. both times my active sim asked their S/O in another played household to meet them for a date and then it loaded forever and ever until i had to give up on it. the fact that it was the same lot was probably a coincidence but if you were traveling to a date too, it might not be
