wish we could trade lol! i just tried opening just sims 4 through the icon on the dock but sims pops up and tells me that an error has occured and i cant play because origin isnt installed and is required for game play
i’m curious why you haven’t upgraded your OS to Mojave? i’m also running on a MacBook Pro (mid-2015, 15”, Model 11,5) with current version of Mojave. While I complain about origin bugs, they’re #firstworldproblems compared to yours. Its the latest version of MacOS that runs both 64 bit and 32 bit apps so for me it’s kind of a sweet spot before jumping off the Catalina cliff. All hyperbole aside, I find it to be a robust and stable OS. if you don’t have a compelling reason to stick with Yosemite you might consider an upgrade.
While I can’t help but notice that Mac and origin don’t always see eye to eye (origin is just jealous, imho), I wouldn’t be totally surprised if upgrading to Mojave at least makes your game playable. My advice is based on a hunch and my own experience (read: a single data point with questionable accuracy). In the limited time Ive spent really browsing this forum recently, I’ve noticed a few ppl are really on top of tech triage and resolution. For example, I bet @Bluebellflora or @puzzlezaddict (the third z is silent - very tricky) could give you a play-by-play history of the whole dysfunctional relationship.
I hope you get sorted and re-operational soon! 🤞
