After you ran the Origin reset tool what happened when you double clicked on the Origin icon to open it again? Did it take you through the set up process for Origin? Did it ask you for your password to install the Origin Helper Tool?

Thanks both for your replies 🙂
Can you completely turn off your antivirus and try again?
Are you running any antivirus or 3rd party firewall?

Yes I am running Malwarebytes. I tried uninstalling and then installing Origin and running it, still doesn't work.

Ok, bit bizarre. Can you work your way through all the suggestions in the Mac Origin help thread - https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/MAC-Origin-Troubleshooting-and-Information/m-p/5371659#M3386
