People don't show up in CAS and Game

My game hasn't been working correctly on many fronts, but most of the problems (all but the Toddler trait and animations one) have appeared after the 12.12.19 update. One of my children is getting sad from "charmer toddler trait," even though he's no longer a toddler, animations are going abnormally fast,

it often times won't let me play as a family I've already created, but most frequently it won't let me create a Sim. No person appears, but I've been able to go so far as to pick a house for my household (that I have to name and give traits for), although it is only showing half my worlds, and won't show any of the game-generated people, either.

I tried playing with mods in, with mods off (I originally just turned off mods, but after that didn't work I completely removed them from the mods folder), after updating my MC command center, but none of it seems to work.

Thank you for any help you could possible give me.

    @tiffvern  Please move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Then repair the game in Origin: right-click on the Sims 4 icon and select Repair.  This should fix at least some of the issues; please test in a new save and let me know what, if anything, is still broken.

    There's another report of a non-toddler sim getting the charmed toddler sad moodlet.  It would be helpful for you to click Me Too in that post and add a bit of information: that the sims is a child, whether you aged him up manually, and whether he had that trait as a toddler.
