Popping Sound When Playing Sims 4

Hi! Just yesterday, I logged onto my Sims 4 to clear out my custom content and mods. As soon as the welcome screen popped up, this odd popping noise came. It was constant. Even with or without mods, it still went on. Tried changing how the speakers were categorized or turning the game off, even tried turning my computer off. Nothing worked. I'm on a Mac with a M2 chip and many packs and not too many mods. Running the latest version of origin, Sims 4, and iOS. If i can, later, i can send a clip of the popping. I've seen some forms on this, either they did not help or they were on PC. It's not a big priority for me, but i want to play my game pop-free. Thanks!

  • @ZoTheWitchWait, nvm. I had found out that the new "Game mode" feature makes the noise. If any other mac user comes across this. Turn off The Game Mode! And if it is not that, i will ask for more feedback!

Interesting, it's not happening on my M1 MBA in game mode. Could you provide full specs of your Mac from About This Mac (not the serial number) for comparison?

    MacBook Air M1 2020
    8GB Memory
    macOS Sonoma 14.0

Have you tested with headphones plugged in vs built-in speakers? That would be an interesting test too.

What are your in-game sound options? Do you have everything turned on or some off and some on?

There have been on and off reports for years from Mac users experiencing this but it's interesting that the new game mode feature was apparently your issue.
