Can you update to Ventura and see if it makes a difference? From memory I think it was an OS update that resolved this for the few who experienced it. Unless maybe you’re just getting used to the slight differences in the game between Mac and Windows? The CAS tools seem slightly more snappy for me when I play via Boot Camp. - lrt_kitkat2 years agoNew Rookie@Bluebellflora
I've just updated to Ventura - unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. There's definitely an issue with drift and it's not just me. Whenever I try to drag in any direction (particularly left) there's a huge amount of resistance and I have to almost fight against the cursor to get it to drag in the way I'm intending, it isn't like there's a difference in lag or snappiness than what I'm used to on windows, the only issue is the dragging, when I hold the cursor and move it. - @lrt_kitkat
When you say it's not just you, do you have links to any further posts on this, apart from the older ones? Any recent posts would be really helpful. It would be good to see specs of Macs this is happening on for QA to look into.
I have 2x Intel Macs and an Apple Silicon Mac with the game installed and don't notice any significant delay and resistance in CAS but I'm wondering whether it could be linked to the cursor offset on Macs with camera notches in the display. Is there any difference in the CAS lag/resistance playing in windowed mode or fullscreen? - lrt_kitkat2 years agoNew Rookie

This thread https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Left-Dragging-Not-Working/m-p/9796887#M41518 has quite a few people with the same issue and it sounds identical to mine. From those who have disclosed their specs, they seem to be similar to mine with the M1 chip and with the most recent poster being from July and having the exact same mac as myself and the same issues - so I'm not sure if there's correlation there? I also found this thread https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/CAS-Build-mode-live-mode-camera-being-weird/m-p/10850231#M48337 with people having similar issues who seem to have the M1 chip.
I have been playing in windowed mode as I used to have a cursor bug when playing fullscreen but I just tried playing fullscreen and the lag/resistance is exactly the same, no worse or better. - TheSimsDirect2 years ago

Hello @lrt_kitkat
Could you share a video of the issue you're seeing?
Information on how to share is here:
https://x.ea.com/74420 - lrt_kitkat2 years agoNew Rookie@TheSimsDirect Hi, I put together a video of the issues as best I could, it's quite difficult to convey through video the full extent of the issue but I tried my best.
In the first clip I am moving smoothly with my finger on the trackpad, yet I encounter resistance. In the following clip, you can see that my hands are moving smoothly across the trackpad, yet the camera rotation is not following that movement and there's resistance that I encounter.
I also thought it important to note that the issue is not only when trying to rotate a sim in CAS, it occurs when moving facial features and dragging to edit the body etc, it was just much harder to capture a video of this due to the limits when modifying the body/face.

Thanks! 🙂 - lrt_kitkat2 years agoNew Rookie@Bluebellflora Nope, the < and > are fine, I just obviously can't use them for sliders in CAS eg. face shape, body shape etc
- @lrt_kitkat
There is a known bug at the moment with sliders to the left https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-MAC-Makeup-skin-tone-sliders-to-work-when-sliding-to-the/m-p/12497607
Great informative video for the Sims team 🙂 - TheSimsDirect2 years ago
