Re: Game Data Incomplete, grey llamas, red and white sims, broken textures

Does anyone know how to fix the 'Data Game Incomplete'? It has popped up every single time I've launched the sims, the first time I saw the message I exited it out and rebooted the game, it came popped up again. The second time I exited to the main menu, I went back in and it popped up again. The third time I went into Origin and repaired the game and tried it again, it popped up again. I've updated the sims, I've updated my Mac, I've removed all of my mods and nothing is working. I'm not sure what else to try.

    No, when I repaired the game they all re-downloaded and it said it was complete.

    Ok. Can you try this:

    1. In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents.
    2. Navigate to Contents > Mac OS.
    3. Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place.
    4. Now open Origin, right click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click Repair Game.

    Hi @Bluebellflora,
    I tried this, since I'm struggling with the same problem. Sadly nothing changed when I tried it...
    I had an other problem with my Sims 4 and uninstalled the whole thing, and now I have reinstalled it again. Is there something I'm missing that you should do to complete your game data, when you reinstall?

    I tried the Origin Reset again, it worked and I haven’t had a problem since then.

    @Bluebellflora

    I tried the Origin reset and the thing with deleting the mac0S file. When I open my sims I don't get the message about my data being incomplete anymore, it just looks like a brand new game (just like if I had never played it before).

    Great! So now we need to find your saves. They are in the Sims 4 folder and should be in your Documents > Electronic Arts folder. Have you moved it? Do you have iCloud Drive setup?

    @Bluebellflora

    So I tried many different things now (I followed other AHQ feeds) and I finally fixed the problem!

    Yes, like you said I needed to locate TS4 folder, and then move the 'saves' folder to the new TS4 folder (the one that TS4 made every time I opened the game). Haha long journey!

    Thanks for the help!
