Re: My Sims 4 game won't save and the game itself won't tell me

I actually figured out the problem for anyone on a Mac, and you have to go into your "Electronic Arts" folder in "Documents" in "Finder" and make sure that the game is downloaded, because it make have been saved in ICloud after the last Mac update. Hope this helps.

Additional explanation by @Noir_Jackal:

I went to the "Electronic Arts" folder located in documents, opened it, right clicked on "The Sims 4" folder and chose "Download Now". My old saved games were available to open when I started Sims 4 after that. Worked like a charm.

Yes, the issue is happening to those who have chosen to store their Documents folder in their iCloud Drive as it actually moves the folder to the cloud. Therefore every time the game is loaded it is recreating a new Sims 4 user data folder as it cannot find one.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have been trying to figure out this problem forever and I tried almost everything. Moving files, deleting some, copying them and putting them back. Little did I know it was as simple as saving the folder back to my computer. You have made me so happy!

Did this bring your saved game back or did you have to re-do everything from scratch? ☹️

  • The solution is so simple but this has been driving me crazy for months, THANK YOU so much. 👍🏻
