Re: "Origin" Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for Malicious Software

I have a MacOS Catalina, version 10.15.

I had to uninstall origin because sims 4 stopped working and all. And now I have tried all day to try to get it to work, I download it and when I try to open it, it says: "Origin can´t open because Apple can´t check if it contains malware."

I tried to reset origin multiple times, i restarted the computer (in safe mood aswell) multiple times, I contacted support team a few times, but nothing worked.

I tried going to disk utility, but it didn´t do anything no matter what or where i pressed, I couldn´t make any changes or anything at all there.

I´m getting tired now, I have been trying for literally hours but nothing works. Please, is there anyone who can help me?

Right-clock the Origin icon and select Open from the menu that will pop up. You will get the warning again, but there will not be a” open” button. Click it.

You should be ok from here.
  • @tildeamanda Hej,
You need to do some changes: We had the same problem and we found a post in the Apple support pages:

Here is the post about that
Link to the Apple support page: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250772841

Try to open Origin again, so you get the malicious software warning again.

Then click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen and select System Preferences > Security and Privacy.
Under the General tab, you should see a message about Origin being blocked. Click the Lock icon in the lower left corner of the window, enter your password so you can make changes, and click the button to allow Origin anyway."

Then I open The Sims again and it seems to work.

    I hope this works

    Good luck
