@PapayaGirl02 ... I'm curious if you received the files and if you were able to successfully use Reshade?
May I also get the link?

@reynajazel@baranrainy @reynajazel It won't let me send anymore DMs. Hahaha Here's the link - [CM edit - Removed 3rd party link]
@LexLennon Hey thanks so much for sending the files, I was wondering how I get it to work because when i put them in the MacOs folder and opened my game there seems to be no difference. I'll put in a screenshot of the MacOS folder. Was there anything you had to do to make the shaders show?
Me too.. I was so excited to see that finally could have a chance of using reshaders. I did everything as recommended but it didn't work ☹️

I gave the poster the benefit of the doubt and tried this out. Spoiler alert: It doesn't work. Given the mechanics of Reshade, I honestly didn't think it would. I don't want anyone to get their hopes up or waste their time.
Ugh why can't Reshade just make a mac version, I feel discriminated lol
Ugh. I just wish it would work..😢
Hey @LexLennon. Can you share the link to me too?? 🙂
Guys, I tried this awhile back and unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. I think overall Reshade won’t work due to video drivers on the Mac that these files cannot process even with the correct folders. Different systems, different problems. Also, there isn’t a Bin file to funnel them into so it can affect the output of your video like on Windows processors. Not to mention, Reshade has a lot of windows based coding and, from what a fellow simmer told me, Mac’s (majority of the time) come with integrated GPUs (some PCs do too but there’s issues that come along in terms of Reshade and gaming) than external GPUs (which is why eGPU chips and/or Desktops are the best for any ultra settings and high performance; all your streamer faves are majority of the time playing on Desktop Computers).
The best bet would be to get Bootcamp for Mac and install Reshade and TS4 on there.
Now... if you don’t have enough disk space on your Mac and can’t install Bootcamp, like I do, you can try to replicate what the OP’s friend has done to see if there is any possibility to get the Reshade Files and place them into your MacOS file again. Please be my guest as I’ll try this out too, but I doubt I’ll get any result.

I hope this all helps and/or makes sense! Happy Simming ❤️
PLEASE CAN YOU SEND ME THE FILE SHARE TOO!

Hey i can see that all of the replys are now "can i have link too, please?" - but i am really intrested in it too ;(
can you make tutorial video on YouTube for how to download reshade on Mac !!
@me2621, have you tried with Parallels? I've placed all the correct files in the correct place, but it doesn't work. I don't think @LexLennon would have lied to us, it must be able to work somehow!!
So I meant to factory reset my Mac a while ago and decided to do it early last week. When I did I downloaded and installed the 14 day trial for Parallels and have been spending about a week trying to get things to work. I should mention I am not tech savvy in any way, but can follow online instructions.
So the first thing I did was make sure I had enough disk space for another operating system, which I did due to factory reset. (I backed up my sim saves and mods on an external hard drive before doing the reset)
Then I installed parallels, which does not come with all the necessary framework and c++ visual software so I found a tutorial and installed the proper framework files for Origin to even let me install it.
Once I was able to get origin installed, I had to download the sims 4 without any packs, just the game by itself, as parallels can crash and once restarted the game isn't finished then it tries to download packs, which obviously doesn't work. So I download my game, and all the packs I have (all expansions, most GPS, and almost all SPs) and made sure parallels would open sims 4 and run my game. Cas worked and gameplay worked (not any faster then it just being on my Mac considering the headaches to install everything literally took me 3 days of troubleshooting)
Once I knew sims 4 was running, I followed a different online tutorial on how to install Reshade.
It works. I am using reshade on my MacBook Pro 15" 2013. It's a pain and a hell of a learning curve, definitely not as easy and Lex buddy made it out to be, but with parallels it's possible.
Major downside to all of this is parallels is a $100 program with a 14 day free trial only. So while this is awesome and I am getting it to work I doubt I will bite the bullet and buy the program. I can't justify how much parallels is just to use reshade.
Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for your experience, it really helps others and also confirms that it is not possible to get Reshade working in the game running in macOS natively.
If you have an Intel Mac, not M1, you could Boot Camp your Mac instead of using Parallels. You'd get a much better gaming experience than running it within Windows in a VM as Parallels uses it's own drivers.
