You are a lifesaver!
Moving my save file to a new sims 4 folder did the trick. Thanks!
Hi there, can you please explain or show me a link on how to fix this issue, I am unsure of how to save my game in a different folder. I am not too computer savvy. My game just started to crash within the last two days. I can't even get past the plumbob loading screens. Origin did an update right before this started to happen. I have repaired the game twice... I haven't had too many issues before that. I play on an iMac -
Processor 3.4GHz Intel core i5
Memory 16GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Graphics Radeon Pro 570 4 GB
Thank you, in advance
Hi @BearHugs1911,
To make a new clean The Sims 4 Folder: First access your Electronic Arts folder --> click on The Sims 4 folder --> then find your saves folder and move it out of the The Sims 4 folder somewhere safe where you can access it later. And if you have a mods folder, do the same (just place the folders in your desktop screen).
Then go back to the Electronic Arts folder and move The Sims 4 folder out. I would also place it in your desktop screen for now.
You should have no The Sims 4 folder in your Electronic Arts folder now.
Then, go to Origin and start the game. It should go past the Plumbob loading screen now. If it does, then move your saves and mods folder back into the new clean The Sims 4 Folder. Let me know if it works!
Hi, you helped me a couple of weeks ago.. I did what you said and it worked for a while but now it's crashing again please help...
Hi,
I wanted to thank you for your help. I moved my save folder to my desktop, then the sims 4 folder. I started a new game and it worked just fine. When I put my saves back in, the game went back to crashing. My game would load, however, if I went to have my sims travel to another lot, the plumbob loading screen would come up and then it would crash out of the game. I have no idea at this point what to do. I don't use CC or Mods. The gallery works just fine. It only happens with the loading screen when my sims travel to a different lot. It's quite frustrating since I haven't had any crashing issues like this, even after I added Snowy Escape and had the patch update. I have all packs except the star wars one. I am wondering if my save folder is the issue however, since when I did what you asked, the game, even though it started as it was new, ran just fine. I lost all of the items in my library now as a result. My computer has always ran just fine so this is confusing. I do however appreciate your help in this matter.
* I wanted to add, I disabled my internet and it seems to be working ok while offline, so far. Do you think it could be the Origin update that is causing this?
* ok never mind, it crashed again.

I have had several crashes after this. I repaired origin, the game too and still crashing. Any idea why my library has been deleted and how I may get it restored? Thanks, in advance
