I downloaded the Floral Kit and now my game won't load. It loaded fine using EA app before that.
- @EA_Leeuw Yes I did
I'm having the same issue as well. I play on a macbook and was just forced to switch to the ea app. My first time opening it I downloaded the free blooming rooms kit and tried to open my game and it quits immediately every time. I've tried everything to fix it and nothing is working.

Hey all,
We're currently investigating this and were curious if anyone impacted by this issue has a recently created lastCrash.txt file they would be able to share here?
You can find it in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 if the file exists.
Thanks!
Sorry, mine didn't crash.I played once before downloading the Blooming Rooms kit and everything was fine. Once I exited the game I downloaded the Blooming Rooms kit and immediately tried to restart the game. It wouldn't load. I tried a couple of times today again to no avail. I checked my last crash.txt files and my last one was in 2020.

@EA_Leeuw Hello,
I switched over to the EA app from Origin on Thursday, May 17. I had no issues while using Origin, but as soon as I switched to EA all of these problems started arising. I already owned the Blooming Rooms Kit before making the switch so I don't believe that is part of the contribution (at least in my case).
My game will only load when I completely take the Sims 4 folder out. As soon as the new one is generated I try adding parts of my old one (i.e. my saves, tray, or mods), and my game will no longer start up. I have gone through all of my mods and cc and they are all up to date/not corrupted so there is no reason that they should be the cause for this. I have even tried launching my game with just the saves or the tray but that won't work either.
On Thursday, when the switch first happened, my game wouldn't even launch (no matter what I did). So, I deleted my games, went through all of my mods/cc, took out my Sims 4 folder, updated my Mac laptop, restarted my laptop, redownloaded my games, uninstalled and reinstalled EA. Even after all of this, nothing has worked. I have never had an issue like this.
INFO:
Mac model - MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
macOS - Sonoma 14.5
EA version - 13.206.0.5719

UNDER INVESTIGATION - Post Marked as Solution for Visibility
Hey all!
The Sims team are looking for some further information from impacted players on this issue, if you're running into this currently and if you could share some data with us by DMing @TheSimsDirect, it would be most appreciated.
What we're currently looking for are players willing to share the contents of their Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder (please follow the link here for steps on this).
Additionally, if you could include in your message what your Mac security permissions are set to, it may be helpful as well.
You can open a DM via the link here.
Please also see @EA_Leeuw 's post HERE for further information and troubleshooting steps on this issue.
The other day I decided to download a bundle using the most recent sale on my Mac, but after I bought them I couldn't launch or open Sims 4 anymore.
The first thing I did was restart the EA App, but that didn't work, so I restarted my computer, but that didn't work either. I tried looking on Google for answers, but no one else seemed to have the same problem. I tried to clear up some storage by deleting old saves, localthumbcache.package, and avatarcache.package, but none of that worked either.
Whenever I open the EA App on my Mac, all I see in my library are blank tiles, and I can't click or interact with it in any way. I don't know how else to describe it so I added a screenshot.
I've never downloaded any CC and I only own some of the mods that Sims 4 offers.
I've been very cautious about what I should delete because I don't want to ruin Sims 4, but I'm willing to delete all my saves or buy as USB if necessary, but I don't want to lose any of my mods...
Please help me, I don't know what to do ☹️
Thank you for any assistance.
Forget your Mods for the moment, you need to test without them. Follow these steps to launch a new clean game - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163
For issues with games not showing in EA App please post in the EA App Mac forum - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/bd-p/ea-app-technical-issues-mac-en
It did nothing.
I followed the first step of the link, moved The Sims 4 folder onto my desktop, and started up the EA App, but I still only see the blank tile where Sims 4 is supposed to be. I also quit and restarted the EA App, but it's still the same.
I can't test if the game still works or can create a new folder because I'm unable to interact with Sims 4 at all.
I also don't have Origin anymore since it forced me to convert to the EA App (I don't think it was the cause of my issues since the EA App worked fine for me, it wasn't until I bought the bundle that everything stopped working) so idk how much of a difference that makes.
Sorry if I'm coming across as rude, I'm just frustrated that nothing seems to be working and very scared that I might not be able to play Sims 4 again because of the issue that I'm having.
Thank you for your suggestion.
I have encountered the fail to launch error in the EA app trying to launch sims 4 and have tried everything on my mac. Quitting and opening, restarting my laptop, repairing the game, clearing activity from the EAbackgroundservice in the activity monitor. I attempted to clear the app's cache but because of the new update I couldn't find a tutorial on how to do it in the new app. Please help.
I received a mandatory request from my Origin App, asking if I want to continue to play/load my games, I need to migrate to the EA App. I did so and even paid for new Sims packs, but then, when I tried to launch the app, there was no response. I see the Sims 4 icon pop up then jump back to the EA App. I tried everything, like clearing the cache file, repairing the game, updating the application, etc. None of them worked.
Here's some info you might need:
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: EA APP
Operating system (OS).: 13.6.6 (22G630)
My Macbook pro model: C02VR0U8HV2V
EA app Error Report ID: 4e83b846-cb35-42e3-a471-e9a1facf0742
The new EA app will not let me play my Sims 4 game. It does launch the game but then
I get a window in front of the load game, with a bunny on it, and when I click to close i get the whirling circle
of doom and I have to Force Quit.
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you
Hi! I've been reading so many forums, and have tried so many things, like using the repair function, or clearing my cache. Essentially, I just made the switch from Origin to the EA App since it forced me to. Maybe I didn't try hard enough to stay on Origin, but I doubt it lol. Anyways, I also deleted my Origin app and like the Origin installer, I don't know if it's pertinent or not, but might be worth noting. So, I get the EA app, (also I got a free stuff pack, don't know if that's important too, but I am literally desperate to figure this out) and I try to launch the Sims 4, it took a few tries but it loaded. I closed it after that since I noticed all my CC was gone (Need help with that too lol). I tried to go back in hoping my CC would load, the game would come up on my hotbar, and then disappear after attempting to launch. I restarted my Mac, and then I moved my Sims 4 game to my desktop. Now, every time I try to open the game, the EA app also crashes. Please help, anyone!! I don't know if I'm making the problem worse, or it's just EA, but any advice truly appreciated.
they should have kept origin. i've completely given up trying to fix it and play. waste of time.
Yes before it happened

What happend to your investigations? Still get the same error EC 106, EA app does not open on mac 14.5.
I had previously downloaded my Sims 4 game on my ea account. but suddenly the sims 4 stopped loading in my EA application. The icon appears empty in my game library. When I click on any Sims 4 game kit on my home page, a blank screen appears again. I deleted my EA app and reinstalled it. I did the “Clear cache” operation. I restarted my computer, checked my updates. I even opened a new account to be sure; Then, when I open the Sims 4 kits, a blank screen appears. What should I do? Is this an issue with EA? I am using Macbook M3 pro.
After being forced to download the EA app for Mac, the Sims 4 will not launch. It bounces for half a second, crashes, and redirects to the EA app. I received this troubleshooting code:
6fca56b6-2abd-4699-bdc4-b1244337fec0. I tried repairing the game, uninstalling/reinstalling the game, logging in and out of the app, and restarting my computer. Nothing works.

Same. Though, i was able to play it this past weekend. IDK what happened but there was a new update and now I can't even open the game. I just bought the For Rent extension pack too.
