MacBook Airs aren't designed for gaming at all so it will be because the game is demanding a lot of resources from your underpowered Mac. Lower your graphics settings in game and make sure your Mac is elevated so air can circulate underneath to help with cooling. Without know the specifications of your desktop Mac it would be impossible to answer your query 🙂
