Re: [WORKAROUND] game/Mac freezes on Apple silicon Macs
Sorry to whom it may concern, I posted my issue on another site but was advised to come here to look for help to ill copy and paste my extract below:
Hey, so just recently have I got a MacBook to start playing my sims on (ill leave details below), but I've been having a few technical issues. The Sims runs completely smoothly on my MacBook, and I don't start experiencing a problem until I go into build mode where it'll start off fine for the first five or so minutes, running as smooth as it would in live mode, and then will freeze suddenly on the screen. When I click my mouse I can steal hear the sounds, but my screen will not unfreeze which result in me force shutting down my MacBook. I'm not sure whether or not it does the same thing in CAS as I haven't yet been on it long enough to give it the time to freeze, but I have heard other people saying it does. It really baffles me as it works completely fine in live mode, and is a massive upgrade in quality from my old PC.
Now I'm not entirely sure if this is even related to the situation but after I've logged back into my MacBook after a force shut down, a notification will pop up saying something along the lines of ' Origin is not installed and also when I sometimes try and open Origin throughout the day ill get notifications saying likewise that 'Origin is being run on another device' (in which it's not because I don't have another device to run it on)
I'm sorry if this is not the place to be asking questions like this but it has really confused and it really bothers me ahaha.
Please help me out!! (MacBook information below 🙂)
[mac OS Big Sur
version 11.2.3
chip: Apple M1

Thanks!
