I did everything you told me and the game still won't give me the option to load a save
Thanks for the save 🙂
I managed to load it in my game:
Can we just check again that you have that particular save in the correct location? Same instructions as before but this time the Terminal command for the search would be:
find ~ -type f -name "*Slot_0000000a.save*" 2>/dev/null
As before, please copy/paste the result here.

Alright, the result:
MacBook-Air:~ psychogirl$ find ~ -type f -name "*Slot_0000000a.save*" 2>/dev/null
/Users/psycholesbo/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_0000000a.save.ver1
/Users/psycholesbo/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_0000000a.save.ver0
/Users/psycholesbo/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_0000000a.save.ver2
/Users/psycholesbo/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_0000000a.save.ver3
/Users/psycholesbo/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_0000000a.save

Thanks. All the backups are there too. You need to empty that folder completely and only put in the save file you shared with me and then launch the game and see if the Load Game option appears at the main menu. If you still can't see it then please rename the Sims 4 folder The Sims 4 Backup and launch the game again. It should be like new. Close the game and a new Sims 4 folder will have been created. Put the save into the saves folder in the newly created Sims 4 folder then launch the game again and see if you can load it.
There is nothing wrong with the save as I managed to load it. I clicked on Load Game at the main menu and it popped up straight away. - 3 years ago
I tried both but the game still won't give me the option to load a game ☹️

Could you post a screenshot of the main menu in your game? And a screenshot of the contents of the saves folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 too please. Please make sure the file path is clearly showing at the bottom of the Finder window in the screenshot.
This is really strange. If the save is in the correct location I don't see why it shouldn't be showing up. You could try setting up a new user account on your Mac and playing in that account to see if there is some kind of problem with your current user account accessing the Sims 4 folder. You would need to copy the save over to the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder in the Documents folder of the new account. - 3 years ago
I did make a new user account and put the save file into the sims4 folder there, but it didn't work either :/
Here are the screenshots you asked for:

Thanks, really helpful! In that bottom screenshot the save file has a little arrow in the corner which indicates it is not the actual file but an alias. That will be the problem. Move the actual save file in that saves folder and it should load. - 3 years ago
Oh my god now I feel like the dumbest person alive hahaha now it finally worked, thank you so much for your help!
