Thanks for the info. Have you filed an issue with Aspyr for TS2 as well because you can only play the game in 60 Hz?
The older thread I refer to is here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mac/M1-Mac-mini-display-resolution-issues-after-closing-game-in/td-p/12495177 . It's marked as "solved" but I don't see "just don't use Retina Display" as a solution lol.
Sometimes threads are marked as solved because they inform users of a workaround, which that was, or the OP figured that was a solution that helped them solve their problem. The thread you've linked (thanks!) was only relevant to the M1 Mac mini using a 24" external display, which you are not using I'm guessing because you reference the camera notch on your MacBook Pro? It was only relevant to that particular setup.
Do you have Game Optimisation enabled in full screen mode? Have you disabled it to check whether it makes a difference?
You can change the notch setting in the Info window for the app:
Aspyr knows of the issue; actually they're the ones who came up with the 60 FPS solution, because until then no one could play the game at all.
I already changed the notch settings in the window for the app; it didn't do anything at all, oddly enough.
I do know my laptop switches to Game Mode when I play. I can't find that in my system settings, though, so I'll have to poke around and see if I can try disabling it.
