Save rollback

The save files are in the documents folder, I tested with another save and I had no problem finding the save files again. It's nothing cloud related, at least I think because there is a physical save file in my saves folder from when I saved and exited the first and second time.

Ok. Let's do a complete search of your Mac using Terminal, in case there are erroneous saves in odd locations (it happens). 

Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and copy and paste the following search command then hit Enter/Return:

find ~ -type f -name "*Slot_*" 2>/dev/null

After a little while it will return the results of the search. You'll know when it's finished searching because the command prompt will reappear. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

Once you've located all the saves you can start testing them and adding them into the saves folder.

the literal wall of text that comes with my many save slots. but let me see if it doesn't go over the text limit. (it did, the limit is 60,000) so I just deleted the majority of it because it all looks the same as below. but there was only one save that was not in the right place, and that was a save file that I downloaded a while ago and don't plan on using (I should probably delete it but eh)

It would help to have it all and not an abridged version. Next time paste it all into a Word file or some other text file and upload it.

Your saves folder is a mess and needs organising. Sort out your iCloud Drive syncing, create a folder somewhere and move all the contents of your saves folder into the new folder. Move ONE save file back into the saves folder and see if it loads in-game. If it does great, do that with all the save files. If it doesn't you've got a bigger problem.

Ok, I took off the cloud sync and undid the optimizing Mac storage. I then took all the save files out except for the relevant file which I'm trying to fix, and also did another find to get all the save file names to compile it onto a pdf so that's why they're all in the wrong folder instead of in the proper ea folder. 

But, I did test the single (relevant) save file, and essentially, it did nothing. The progress that I did is still not there and the family portrait is correct whenever I click load game, but once I load into manage worlds after clicking on the save file in load game, it goes back to that previous point if that makes sense. I can tell by the sim portraits because I had sims age up during that time. 

I have a spare mods folder on my desktop for 50/50ing mods and I figured putting it there made the most sense. But yes the problematic save file is the only one in the actual save file folder. 

In the meantime I'm going to try and boot up an old computer to see if it's this computer or the save file's fault. Also, any tips for cleaning out the save file folder besides going through it manually? Because I can do it but it sounds like a pain to do. 

I tested the save file multiple times with different save files and it did nothing. I also tried the different computer too and that did nothing too.
